Hrabowski and alumni entrepreneurs featured in SmartCEO

SmartCEO has published a feature-length profile on UMBC President Dr. Freeman Hrabowski. In addition to an overview of the President’s career in academia and his approach to education, the article dedicates much of its length to Dr. Hrabowski’s role in the bwtech research park and his encouragement of alumni entrepreneurship. Inspiring Hope: The Choice Program

Every day, kids in Maryland are at risk. These are kids who slip through the cracks, kids who, if given appropriate and individualized support, can be successful. That problem is one that a team at UMBC is trying to address through the Choice Program. UMBC Mourns Passing of Chancellor John W. Dorsey

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of former Chancellor of UMBC, Dr. John W. Dorsey. President Freeman Hrabowski addressed the UMBC community regarding his passing: I know I speak for the entire UMBC community in mourning the death of Dr. John W. Dorsey, the third Chancellor of the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, at the age of 78. Chancellor Dorsey died on July 28 at his home in Laurel of respiratory failure. Del. Adrienne Jones '76 Visits Performing Arts & Humanities Building

Maryland House Speaker Pro Tem Delegate Adrienne Jones ’76, psychology, toured the new Performing Arts & Humanities building this morning along with UMBC president Dr. Freeman Hrabowski and others. “It is clear that our governor and other state officials understand how important this project is for our campus.  And the leadership of our alumna, Del.
